Students interested in the UIC Symphonic Band should should complete the ONLINE ENSEMBLE SIGN-UP FORM and plan to attend the first meeting on Monday, August 21 at 6:00 pm in ETMSW L060. You will receive a syllabus and music for hearings to be heard on Wednesday, August 23 between 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm. These are quick hearings held in order to place students on appropriate parts. Hearings do not exclude anyone from participation in the Symphonic Band. All are welcome! The Symphonic Band performs works written for concert band and provides members the opportunity to participate in an outstanding ensemble. The Symphonic Band is open to all students, including non-music majors, and is designed for those who want to continue playing music in college while perusing their academic interests. The ensemble also serves music degree students who wish to develop their skills on secondary instruments and become more familiar with band repertoire. The Symphonic Band explores a diverse range of traditional and contemporary repertoire and performs two concerts per semester. The group is also open to community members.
