UIC 12th Annual Band and Orchestra Festival

UIC will host the annual UIC Band and Orchestra Festival on Friday, March 15 at UIC Student Center East (750 S Halsted St.)

The festival is open to all middle and high school ensembles. Each participating ensemble will have a concert performance, receive feedback, have a clinic with festival clinicians, and hear other ensembles perform. Bands and orchestras of all ability levels are encouraged to participate. 

Application

Ensembles will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis up until March 1, 2024*. The registration fee is $250 per ensemble when registered by February 2, 2024, otherwise the fee is $275 per ensemble.

Festival Format 

  • Perform a concert of up to 20-minutes of music. Clinicians will provide written and recorded comments. 
  • Participate in a clinic with a festival clinician. 
  • Ensembles have the option to receive performance ratings (I, II, or III) or comments only. 
  • Participants are asked to attend the performances of at least two other ensembles. 
  • Participants are invited to attend the Festival Concert featuring the UIC Orchestra and Wind Ensemble.
