About

Jim Frazier graduated with a BA in Theatre from Wake Forest where he performed and designed sound for many productions.  He moved to Los Angeles where he worked as a production assistant for several films, a personal assistant for the musician Mark Everett (Eels), and a sound technician hosting open mics and playing music at many venues.

Jim was a Pro Tools editor and mixer at a voice over studio in Chicago for a several years before relocating to Atlanta. During his time in Atlanta he worked at the famed Eddie’s Attic venue and the Alliance Theatre at the Woodruff Arts Center.

Jim was the Technical Director for the Grant Park Music Festival at the Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park and has worked for various audio companies and labor unions in the Chicago area for events including the Summer Dance Festival, Shedd Aquarium’s Jazzin Series, and Lollapalooza.

Jim has assisted in productions at Marie Murphy Jr. High School, North Eastern Illinois University, Glenbrook North High School, Northwestern University, College of Lake County, Lovett School, Spelman College, and Georgia Tech.

As UIC’s Technology Coordinator for the School of Theatre and Music, Jim looks forward to continuing his work behind the scenes, encouraging students and aiding professors with successful seasons, and helping mentor students with the skill sets and appreciation to allow them to become professionals and patrons of the arts.
