Wind Ensemble: M/W 4:00-5:50pm; F 4:00-4:50pm
Symphonic Band: M/W 6:00-7:30pm
Who Can Audition? Any UIC student, regardless of degree, has a place in our music ensembles and are encouraged to join. Students receiving a Music Merit Award and music degree students must meet specific ensemble obligations every semester according to their scholarship or degree plan requirements. Ensemble placement is determined by performance faculty based on audition results, scholarship/degree obligations, ensemble needs, and student preferences.
All string players are expected to complete an in-person audition this fall. Don’t worry—all string players with prior experience are accepted into UICO; these auditions are used to devise the best seating arrangement for each UICO concert. String players who wish to perform in a chamber ensemble should also prepare an audition for possible placement in a chamber ensemble, contingent upon availability.
