Small Ensembles Concert

Apr 23, 2023

Recital Hall L285
1040 W. Harrison St. Chicago, IL 60607

The final Small Ensembles Showcase of the 2022-2023 concert season will feature the students of the University of Illinois Chicago in chamber music performances.

If Music Be the Food… is a series of benefit concerts raising awareness and support for those experiencing food insecurity in the local community through the sharing of great music. Our mission also includes teaching students about the importance of community service using their artistic skills. Each concert is a fully grassroots collaboration among professionals, students, guest artists, and local volunteers.

If Music Be the Food… is a completely volunteer endeavor. All of the musicians donate their services, the venues donate the space, and the community, students, and local volunteers assist with publicity, stage management, and anything else that needs to happen for each concert. There is no fixed price for admissions; rather, audience members are invited to bring non-perishable food items or monetary donations of any amount for the partnering food bank. IMBTF is not a 501(c)3; the only money exchanging hands goes directly to the partnering food bank.

Unless otherwise stated all UIC Concerts are Free and Open to the Public

Registration is required to attend this performance.
