John Gaudette graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music and at the age of 20 was hired to play bassoon in the Dallas Symphony. After five seasons he immigrated to Canada to play bassoon in the Vancouver Symphony and the CBC Radio Orchestra. In 2001 he moved to Chicago to freelance. John has played one season with the Lyric Opera and subbed or played extra for the Chicago Symphony, the Lyric Opera, Chicago Philharmonic, Music of the Baroque, Fulcrum Point, and others in the area. He teaches privately at UIC, Northwestern, and DePaul.
