Kelly Langenberg, horn
Kelly Langenberg (M.M.- De Paul University, B.M., B.M.E.- Baldwin Wallace College Conservatory of Music) is a thriving musician and teacher in the Chicago area. Kelly currently serves on Faculty at Elgin Community College, North Park University, Northern Illinois University, and University of Illinois-Chicago.
Kelly’s “ferociously powerful” (ITG Journal) playing has been heard at the Chicago Brass Festival and the International Women’s Brass Conference with the Alliance Brass Quintet, the Chicago Brass Festival and the Mid-North Horn Workshop with the Uber Horn Quartet, the 45th International Horn Society Symposium with the Chicago Horn Consort, and the 2013 National Trumpet Competition, the Great American Brass Band Festival, and the International Trumpet Guild Conference with the Stiletto Brass Quintet.
As a chamber musician, Kelly performs with the Alliance Brass Quintet, the Alloy|Uber Horn Quartet, the Chicago Horn Consort, the Kallima Wind Quintet, and the Tom Sharpe Ensemble. Orchestrally, Kelly performs with the Dubuque Symphony, Light Opera Works, & Kenosha Symphony orchestras and also with the Chicago Philharmonic, Ars Viva! Symphony, Lake Forest Symphony, and many regional orchestras throughout the Midwest. She has performed in the US with the Boston Brass and internationally with the Yucatan Symphony of Merida, Mexico. Kelly's continuing passion for orchestral music study has taken her to the Aspen Music Festival, Kent/Blossom Music Festival, the Pierre Monteux School for Conductors and Orchestral Musicians, and the Chautauqua Institute.
Her primary teachers include Neil Kimel, Jon Boen, and Hans Clebsch. Kelly Langenberg is a Hans Hoyer USA Concert Artist and a Denis Wick Artist and Clinician.
