Erin is the Production Manager for theatre. Prior to joining the faculty at UIC, Erin had been the technical director at Michigan State University, scene shop supervisor for Steppenwolf Theatre Company, and the technical director for the Performing Arts at UNC-Charlotte. She has had the pleasure of working around the country with many companies as a freelance artisan and technicians including Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Williamston Theatre, and the Ohio Light Opera. She is an active member of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology in several commissions and vice-commissioner for publication safety & health in the Technical Production Scene Design Commission and the associate editor for technical production with Theatre Design & Technology magazine. Her current research interests include repetitive injury prevention for technicians and historic fabrication methods of illusions for stage.
