Alexander Ridgers is a lighting designer based in Chicago originally hailing from Edinburgh, Scotland.  Alexander worked extensively in UK theatre as an Associate Lighting Designer with Sell A Door Theatre Company before moving to Chicago to study an MFA in Theatre
Design at Northwestern University. Other UK credits include Royal Opera House 2, British Youth Opera, National Youth Theatre of GB, and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Tron Theatre Glasgow, Tramway Theatre Glasgow, as well as many Edinburgh Fringe Festival productions. 

Since being based in the US, Alexander has designed with Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts in Indiana; American Theatre Company; Theatre Wit; Northwestern University and assisted with Marcus Doshi Design. 

Alexander’s design work was presented as part of the USITT Young Designers Forum 2016 as well as at the National Design Portfolio Review in NYC. Notable awards include the Francis Reid Award for Lighting Design 2012, and the 2016 Best Student Exhibit Award at the Michael Merritt Awards in Chicago.
